Arthritis is a major cause of pain, disability, reduced mobility, and poorer quality of life. Good care needs an interdisciplinary, evidence-informed approach that includes early assessment, medical management, exercise, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, self-management, and patient education. ARTHRITIS 2026 brings together physiotherapy professionals, PhD scholars, researchers, Inters, postgraduate and undergraduate students to share research findings, clinical experience, and innovative approaches to the prevention, assessment, management, and rehabilitation of arthritis.

Building on a Legacy

The Arthritis Conference series has grown beyond a one-day academic event into a continuing research journey, with each edition producing a lasting scholarly record.

• National Conference on Arthritis 2021: Published as a dedicated issue of the VIMS Journal of Physical Therapy (Volume 3, Issue 1(A), 100 pages, DOI: 10.46858/vimsjpt.3113).
• 3rd International Conference on Arthritis 2025: Proceedings published as Insights from the 3rd International Conference on Arthritis 2025, part of the Frontiers in Arthritis series launched in 2025 (ISBN: 978-81-995564-7-8).

Discussions at earlier conferences also highlighted the need for systematic, longitudinal clinical data on knee arthritis, which led to the VIMS Knee Arthritis Registry, a digital platform for assessment, treatment tracking, and outcome monitoring, developed by the Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
